Harrington police arrested 45-year-old Hodges L. Brown, of Milford, and 36-year-old Kimberly C. Jarmon, of Dover, who were allegedly involved in a shoplifting incident at the Family Dollar in the Liberty Plaza Shopping Center on Dec. 23.

Harrington police arrested two suspects allegedly involved in a shoplifting incident at the Family Dollar in the Liberty Plaza Shopping Center on Dec. 23.

Officers responded to the Family Dollar after receiving a shoplifting complaint and contacted 45-year-old Hodges L. Brown, of Milford, and 36-year-old Kimberly C. Jarmon, of Dover. A police investigation revealed that the two suspects entered the store, removed merchandise and attempted to flee without paying for the items, said Harrington Police Department spokesman Lt. Earl Brode.

A computer check revealed that Brown was wanted out of Kent County Court of Common Pleas for failure to appear for a jury trial, and officers also discovered that Brown had an active no-contact order prohibiting him from having contact with Jarmon.

Brown and Jarmon were taken into custody and transported to the Harrington Police Department for processing.

Brown was charged with third-degree conspiracy, shoplifting under $1,500 and breach of release. He was arraigned via video phone at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $1,500 secured bond and $1,000 cash bond.

Jarmon was issued a criminal summons for third-degree conspiracy and shoplifting under $1,500. She was released pending a future court appearance.
