  • Teresa Marie Thomas “aka” Bucky, of Dover, DE, born June 17, 1967, the daughter of the late Arnold I. Thomas and Ruth A. Thomas of Dover, Delaware, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 in Milford, Delaware. She was 46. Teresa loved the Lord early. She attended Mt. Zion Church in Marydel, Maryland and sang on the choir. Teresa attended North Caroline High School in Denton, Maryland and was a band member (playing clarinet) during her high school years. After graduation, she moved to Landover, Maryland with her uncle and aunt, Thomas and Mildred Gross. While there two special things happened: She joined the choir at Shiloh Baptist Church, later singing with the EMG’s., and the second thing, which was most special is she developed one of the greatest relationships with her cousin Helena. Throughout the years, Teresa and Helena (“Buck” as Helena called her), were like twins. The families would always laugh at the two of them and their actions. They experienced so much together to include both of them becoming sick with the same illness at the same time. They talked on the phone for hours and they supported each other until God called Teresa home. After returning back home, Teresa received her certificatiotin as a Medical Assistant from Polytech in Woodside, Delaware. She worked at Fresenius in Smyrna, for Hospice and DiVita in Tallahassee, Florida. When Teresa returned back to Delaware, it was then she learned she had cancer. She fought hard, always trying to keep a happy face. Teresa will always be remembered for her bubbly attitude, her smile, how she loved to tell jokes, and the love she had for her family and friends. She loved to walk with her youngest son, whom we would say was joined at her hip. (Smile) She became a member of PowerHouse Ministries in Smyrna, Delaware, where she sang on the choir and was an usher. She enjoyed reading her bible and listening to the word of God. Teresa is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Clarence Agard and Hilda Mae Gibson, her paternal grandparents, George Washington and Estella Thomas, her father, Arnold I. Thomas, two brothers, Arnold H. & Craig L. Thomas. She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Ruth Thomas, her sons, Brandon Lamar & Derek DeShawn Thomas, one brother, James Thomas, two sisters, Tami(Thomas) Wilson, Jean (Thomas)Scott and husband Matthew Scott, one nephew, Matthew “Zach” Johnson, two nieces, Brittaenee K. Johnson and Arnetta Thomas, one grandson, Brennan Thomas, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
