DNREC enforcement officers have arrested a Felton man, identified as Christian M. Killen, on a number of hunting and firearms-related charges.

Officers with DNREC's Division of Fish & Wildlife Enforcement arrested a Felton man Nov. 23 on a number of hunting and firearms violations.

Christian M. Killen, 47, was charged with felony possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, felony possession of ammunition by a person prohibited, carrying a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle, hunting from a motor vehicle, hunting without a license and possession of unlawfully taken game.

A 12-gauge shotgun, ammunition and an illegally taken fox were seized as evidence, said Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control spokesman Sgt. Gregory Rhodes.

Delaware law prohibits persons with prior felony convictions from owning or possessing weapons, including all firearms and any type of bow. Penalties for violations range from probation and fines to jail sentences, Rhodes said.

Killen was released on a $5,250 unsecured bond pending trial at a later date.
