  • Clerk uninjured during tobacco store robbery

  • Detectives with the Dover Police Department are investigating the robbery of a local tobacco store.
    The incident took place at 6:29 p.m. Nov. 19, at the DOT Discount Tobacco Outlet in the Carroll's Corner Shopping Center, said police spokesman Cpl. Mark Hoffman.
    The suspect came into the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the clerk, Hoffman said. The clerk handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the robber fled.
    The clerk was not injured, Hoffman said.
    The suspect only was described as a black man wearing a black bandana, dark sunglasses, dark gloves and jeans.
    Anyone with information on is crime is asked to call the Dover Police Department at 736-7111. Callers may remain anonymous.
