  • Man robbed of cell phone

  • Dover Police are looking for two men who held up a third man in the parking lot of the Applebee's restaurant near the Dover Mall.

  • The Dover Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating an armed robbery that occurred in the parking lot of the Applebee's restaurant at 909 N. DuPont Highway. The incident took place at 1 a.m. Nov. 21, said police spokesman Cpl. Mark Hoffman. The victim was walking back to the Delaware State University from the McDonald's restaurant when he was approached by the men. Both displayed black handguns and demanded the victim's cell phone. The men then fled southward on North DuPont Highway and were seen riding mountain bicycles. The first suspect was described as a black man between 17 and 19 years of age with a thin build, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt. The second suspect also was described as a black man between 17 and 19 years of age with a stocky build standing approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and a black skull cap. The victim was uninjured. Police ask that anyone with any information on this incident contact the Dover Police Department at 736-7111.
