  • William Joseph Mullarkey of Dover passed away Saturday November 9, 2013 at Kent General Hospital, after a short illness. He was 79. Mr. Mullarkey was born July 11, 1934 in Boston, MA to the late Joseph Mullarkey and Elizabeth Adkins Mullarkey. He retired from the United States Air Force after 21 years of service, as a Major in 1973. Mr. Mullarkey enjoyed entering contests, his weekly trip to the Dover Downs Slots and tinkering in his workshop. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Dover, DE. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Mullarkey in 2006. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Delores Cavalero Mullarkey of Dover; children, Kathleen “Lee” Mullarkey of Dover, Brian Mullarkey and his wife Donna of Waxhaw, NC, and Sean Mullarkey and his wife Cindy of Milford; grandchildren, Brianna Trujillo, Derek, Alysse, Kayla, Skye, Kellie and Kyle Mullarkey; five great grandchildren and his beloved cat Mikie of 17 years. Memorial services will be held 2PM, Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State Street, Dover, DE 19901.
