  • Armed man robs Driftwood Liquors

  • Dover Police are investigating a daylight theft at a local liquor store. The robbery took place at 12:50 p.m. Nov. 13, at the Driftwood Spirits liquor store at 153 S. Bradford St., said police spokesman Cpl. Mark Hoffman. The suspect came into the store, took a bottle of alcohol from a display and went up to the cashier, Hoffman said. The man then showed the clerk a handgun in his waistband and demanded money; the clerk complied and the robber fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect is described as a black man between 20 and 30 years of age, wearing tan boots, a gray hooded sweatshirt and an orange flat-brimmed hat, possibly with a Miami Hurricanes logo.
