Delaware State Police have identified one of two men involved in an early morning home invasion near Felton as Delonzo L. Powell, 30, of Dover. The incident took place at approximately 3:55 a.m. Nov. 2 in the unit block of Pin Oak Court, Canterbury Mobile Home Park, said police spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier. As the two men entered the home, one of them confronted a 20-year-old woman who was sleeping on a couch and covered her mouth to keep her from screaming, Fournier said. The other man hit her in the head once with a handgun, but the noise from the struggle awakened two other women who were sleeping in their bedrooms. The women, ages 23 and 22, went out into the living room, where the suspects forced them to the ground and demanded money. When the women were unable to produce any cash, the suspects stole one of their phones and fled in an unknown direction. None of the victims were injured in this incident. Through interviews and a comprehensive investigation, detectives identified Powell as a suspect, Fournier said. Police have obtained warrants for Powell’s arrest for this incident; he also is wanted by Smyrna Police in connection with a December 2011 robbery there. The second suspect is described as a black man between 20 and 26 years of age, standing between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 8 inches in height. He was carrying an unknown type handgun and was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, black mask, and red and white sneakers. Anyone with information as to Powell’s whereabouts or information on the second suspect should contact Det. D.
