A Dover man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly robbing an 81-year-old man at Dover Downs Casino in September.
The Division of Gaming Enforcement arrested Earl M. Marsh, 27, of Dover, on Wednesday after detectives, with the assistance of Dover Downs security and surveillance officials, investigated the Sept. 25 incident, said Kimberly H. Chandler, a spokeswoman for the Department of Safety and Homeland Security.
Marsh is accused of robbing an 81-year-old man who was redeeming a slot machine voucher at Dover Downs. Marsh allegedly approached the man from behind as he was redeeming a voucher, grabbed his payout and fled the casino, Chandler said. When the victim gave chase, Marsh allegedly pushed the man to the ground and continued to flee.
On Wednesday, DGE detectives searched a Dover residence and arrested Marsh, Chandler said. The Division of Probation and Parole assisted with the search.
Marsh was charged with strong arm robbery and violation of probation. He was jailed a the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $5,000 secured bond.
