The Smyrna Eagles' field hockey squad improved to 3-8 on the year after knocking off Lake Forest 1-0 on Thursday afternoon.

The game's one and only goal came at 27:39 of the first half when junior Dominique Demoe scored on a loose ball in front of the Lake Forest net.

The Smyrna offense managed only two shots on goal in the game to Lake's seven but Eagle freshmen goalkeeper Elana Montejo kept all Spartan chances out of the net finishing with seven saves in the victory.

Smyrna is back in action on Monday when they host Seaford in a rescheduled game, start-time scheduled for 4:00 p.m.

The Spartans fall to 6-7 on the season and return to the field on Tuesday when they travel to Dover to take on the Senators at 7:00 p.m.
