  • Delaware Technical Community College will host its 10th annual Gourmet Gala from 6 to 11 a.m., this evening.
The annual black tie-optional fundraiser offers attendees specialties from Delaware's finest restaurateurs, breweries and vintners, who donate their culinary cuisine and time to help fill the unmet financial needs of Terry Campus students.
This year's Gourmet Gala will feature live music by Dover-area dance band Mike Hines and the Look, and a silent auction with more than 100 unique gift items, including signed, framed prints and bookplates by the world-renowned artist, Andrew Wyeth. More than 30 local restaurants, wineries and breweries will be preparing food for the event. Well-known set designer Eddy Seger, a Dover resident, has once again designed the elegant setting for this year's gala and will be in attendance. Also, the winner of a luxury weekend for two in New York City will be announced. Included in this luxury weekend package are a chauffeur-driven ride to New York City, dinner at Eleven Madison Park, a Broadway show of the winner's choosing and an overnight stay at the famed Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
To purchase tickets to the Gala, raffle tickets for the luxury weekend for two in New York City, or for more information, visit go.dtcc.edu/gourmetgala.
The event will be held in the Education and Technology Building of Delaware Tech's Terry Campus, 100 Campus Drive, Dover.
