  • Harrington Police, conducting two separate traffic stops on Oct, 4, have arrested two persons on drug charges.
The first occurred when officers stopped a car on Delaware Avenue, said police spokesman Lt. Earl Brode. The officer contacted the driver and the passenger, identified as Darryll L. Brooks, 39, of Magnolia, and determined Brooks was wanted in Harrington for shoplifting and by other courts on other charges, Brode said. Officers took Brooks into custody, charging him with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia..
The driver was released without being charged.
Brooks was jailed at the Sussex Correctional Institution, Georgetown, in default of unspecified cash and secured bond.
Later that day, officers conducted another traffic stop after spotting a driver talking on a cell phone while driving. When contacting the driver, identified as Jeremy P. Linville, 28, of Harrington, police noticed the odor of marijuana and conducted a search of the vehicle, Brode said.
Linville was arrested after officers recovered 1.4 grams of marijuana.
He was issued a criminal summons for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, and released pending a future court appearance.
