Rescue units from the Dover Fire Department pulled the driver of an automobile to safety following a Wednesday night crash.
The department was notified of the single-vehicle crash at 9:47 p.m. Oct. 2, in the area of 1559 Forrest Ave., said department spokesman Michael J. O'Connor Jr. Deputy Fire Chief Matthew Carey was the first on the scene, arriving to find one person trapped in the car, which had hit a utility pole.
While specialists were administering patient care, others began work to get the victim out of the damaged car, Carey said. The victim was successfully extracted from the vehicle and taken for medical treatment. The crash scene then was turned over to Dover Police for their investigation.
