  • Howard Edward Boller of Dover went to heaven to be with his wife Betty Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Emeritus of Dover. He was 86. Mr. Boller was an only child born in Baltimore, MD on August 4, 1927 to the late Charles E. and Edna Mae Hopkins Boller. He served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years during WWII. He then worked for Baltimore Gas & electric, moved to Del in 1966 working for Eastern Shore Natural Gas as a Natural Gas Engineer and promoted to Vice President from 1966 – 81, moved to north Jersey as Gem mgr. of gas operations of Manhattan for Consolidated Edison Power in N.Y. until his retirement in 1993. He is a member of Union Lodge #7 in Dover, a 32nd Degree Mason, and has been a mason for over fifty years hailing from Patapsco Lodge 153 in Baltimore. He is a past Commander of the Delaware Veterans Club of Dover, past chair of the Kent County Democrat Committee, and was instrumental in starting what has become Miss Utilities. He was an avid fisherman, loved hunting waterfowl, rabbit, deer & just being in the forest with his children & grandchildren. He coached & umpired Dover little league, and was a scout leader w/troop 122 while his kids were involved. Most of all he loved being with his family. He was an amazing man! Mr. Boller was preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, Betty in 1996. He is survived by; his children, Joy Rhinehardt & husband Steve, Matt Boller & his wife Sharon, Mark Boller & his wife Michelle; nine grandchildren, Jessie, Jennifer, Jess, Lisa, Jason, Laura, Kayce Jane, Howard Edward Boller II & Abbey Ruth: eight great grandchildren, Aiden, Olivia, Paige, Isabella, Marci, Kaydence, Madison &Yogi. Funeral Services will be held 2pm Saturday, September 7th, 2013 at Torbert Funeral Chapel (South) 1145 E. Lebanon Rd. Dover, Delaware 19901 where friends may visit with the family from 12pm until service time. Interment will be in the Garden of Honor, of Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover, Delaware.
