  • The Caesar Rodney Riders return to the field after a successful 2012 season that saw them almost pull an upset win over eventually champions Middletown. Season Outlook: The Riders' football squad is coming off a strong 2012 season, going 7-3 and advancing to the state tournament semifinals where they came within a touchdown of upsetting defending champion Middletown. This year, the Riders return several players from last year's team including quarterback Alexander Kemp and running back Kendall Wicks. While CR lost some contributors on both ends of the ball to graduation, they have plenty of juniors who are ready to step up and fill new roles. They once again expect to be the class of the Henlopen Conference with aspirations of returning to the DIAA state tournament.
Coach's Quote: "Great competition will make our team better," said Caesar Rodney Head Coach Mike Schonewolf. "We are looking forward to playing every opponent on our schedule, one game at a time. We know that our first three games are against three of the four teams that played in the finals last year and we are looking forward to the challenge."
