  • William Donald Septer 76 passed away on Thurs. Aug. 29, 2013 at De. Hospice Milford Center. Born in Spottsville, Ky. on Dec. 29, 1936. He was certainly a devoted husband, father and grandfather. A member of First Baptist Church of Dover, De. Don graduated from Evansville University in Evansville, In. and entered the Air Force through the ROTC program. He worked with General Foods Chocolate Division as production manager and several other locations of G.F. for 25 years. Don enjoyed landscaping projects and various construction endeavors after his retirement in 1987. He also enjoyed long nature walks, golf, card games, NASCAR, volunteer projects and especially visits with his children, grandchildren and family members who will surely miss him. He was preceded in death by his parents William J. Septer and Thelma K. Septer. Also two brothers, Robert B. Septer and David Septer and three sisters, Frances Craig, Rebecca Mason and infant Peggy Ruth Septer. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Christine Shulties Septer, and two children, Donna Septer Maley and Scot Donald Septer. Also he has 5 grandsons, Matthew J. Maley, Jr. 19, Peter William Maley 16 and T. J. Maley 14, Jacob Donald Septer 16, and Caleb Nicholas Septer 15. Surviving siblings are four sisters, Marie Fortenbach, Barbara Arflack, Doris Goad and Mabel Crowder and one brother Thomas Septer. There will be visitation at Torbert Funeral Chapel on Lebanon Road on Tues. evening Sept. 3, 2013 from 6pm-9pm. Committal will be private. Expressions of sympathy would be appreciated to De. Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901 or First Baptist Church 301 Walker Rd, Dover, DE 19904, in lieu of flowers.
