Delaware State Police have identified the driver in the Aug. 30 accident near Hartly as Anthony P. Miller, 25, of Cheswold.
The accident took place in front of 1076 Pearson's Corner Road, said police spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier.
Miller was operating a 2001 Honda Civic when he lost control while trying to pass another vehicle, Fournier said. Miller rode off the east side of the roadway, colliding with a tree before striking the unoccupied home.
He was airlifted to Christiana Medical Center, Newark, with non-life-threatening injuries.
Millerwas cited for driving under the influence (alcohol), driving at an unreasonable speed, no proof of insurance and driving while suspended and revoked.


A one-car accident near Hartly has resulted in damage to an area home.
As of the time this report was posted, Delaware State Police had yet to issue an official report on the accident, however witnesses reported it took place at approximately 12:30 p.m. Aug. 23, in the 1100 block of Pearson's Corner Road, between Route 8 and Hazlettville.
The vehicle apparently was traveling southbound around a curve in the road when it crossed the center line into the northbound side of the road. From there it went through a yard, uprooting a tree, crossing two driveways, hitting a basketball pole and landing sideways on two wheels up against a home.
The building was unoccupied at the time. Witnesses said the home sustained structural damage to the front, including broken windows.
Firefighters from the Hartly Volunteer Fire Company and emergency medical technicians were on the scene in minutes. The driver was removed from the vehicle and airlifted away via a Delaware State Police helicopter.
The Dover Post is awaiting an official report on this incident.
