  • Wallet taken in strong arm robbery

  • A 52-year-old man was punched and his wallet taken during an Aug. 27 robbery.

  • A man was attacked and his wallet stolen during an early morning altercation in Downtown Dover. The incident took place at approximately 1:50 a.m. Aug. 27, said Dover Police spokesman Lt. James Richardson. The victim, a 52-year-old man was in the area of New and West Division Street when he was confronted by another man, Richardson said. The robber tried to take the victim’s wallet, resulting in a struggle in which the victim was punched. The suspect took the wallet and fled northward on New Street. The suspect is described as a dark-skinned black man wearing short dreadlocks or corn rows and wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans. Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to call Dover Police at 736-7111 or 736-7133.
