  • Lillian Jacqueline (Jackie) C. Kelsey, 73, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2013 in Nazareth, PA after a courageous twenty year battle with Parkinson's Disease. Jackie was born on October 11, 1939 in Holly Springs, NC. She was the youngest daughter of the late Catherine and J. Arnold Creech. She graduated from Apex High School in NC in 1957 and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from High Point University (HPU) in NC in 1961. At HPU, she was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. After graduation, she taught school for three years in High Point, one year in Lexington, VA, and two years in Wyoming, DE. In her later years, she worked at Kent General Hospital (now Bayhealth) in Dover as the Conference Room Coordinator for five years and as the Volunteer Director for five years. Jackie was an active volunteer in Dover. She served two years as Treasurer and four years as President of the Dover Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW). She helped form the Dover Heritage Trail in which individuals volunteered to be tour guides and provide walking tours of Colonial Dover. She was a tour guide, Treasurer, Tour Director, and Guide Director. She served five years as a Co-Leader of a Junior Girl Scouts Troop, was a PTA member and a Room Mother for her daughters' elementary school classes, and served two years as Dover High Band Boosters' President. Jackie was predeceased by two brothers and a sister, Joseph Edmond and Waylon Wright Creech and Metta Doris Bailey. She is survived by her two daughters, Allison Edmonds and her husband, Dr. Kent Edmonds of Sellersburg, IN, and Kimberly Omar and her husband, Hashem Omar of Northampton, PA; three grandchildren, Alexis, Adam, and Mayce Omar of Northampton, PA; four sisters, Margaret Yeargin of Raleigh, NC, Catherine Booth and her husband, Webster Booth of Cary, NC, Georgie Underwood of Marietta, GA, and Mary Holt of Holly Springs, NC; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services were held on Friday, August 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home in Fuquay-Varina, NC with a viewing held one hour prior to the service. The burial took place at Holly Springs Cemetery in Holly Springs, NC.
