A U.S. Air Force airman, identified as Jesus Muņoz, 30, formerly assigned to Dover Air Force Base, has been arrested on rape charges.
A U.S. Air Force airman, identified as Jesus Muñoz, 30, formerly assigned to Dover Air Force Base, has been arrested on rape charges.
Muñoz, who now is assigned to Patrick Air Force Base, Melbourne, Fla., was taken into custody Aug. 1 by Delaware State Police detectives after his arrest on July 26 by the Brevard County sheriff's office. Officials with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations assisted with the case, said DSP spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier.
According to the warrant of probable cause released by Justice of the Peace Court 7, Dover, Muñoz allegedly committed the acts from February 2007 to February 2008 while living in the housing area at the base. The victim was 4 to 5 years of age at the time.
Muñoz was charged with two counts of first-degree rape, one count of continued sexual abuse of a child, one count of second-degree assault and 42 counts of first-degree unlawful sexual contact.
He was ordered held at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center, Smyrna, in default of a $173,000 secured bond.
