  • Forty Delaware 4-H Horse project members recently competed at the 48th annual State 4-H Horse Show July 26 in the Quillen Arena during the Delaware State Fair.
    Members competed in the required showmanship classes as well as horsemanship, equitation, trail, pleasure, driving and more.
    Champion and Reserve Champion Horse Show awards were presented to the following 4-H members:
    Champion Western Horse, Jacob Blacksten exhibiting Orkies Feature, Kent County; Reserve Champion Western Horse, Brittney Cahall exhibiting Hard Rock Cafe, Kent County; Champion Western Pony, Alivia Scuse exhibiting Cani, Kent County; Reserve Champion Western Pony, Samantha Greim exhibiting Arrow’s First April, Kent County; Champion English Horse, Morgan Civita exhibiting Moment by Moment, Kent County; Reserve Champion English Horse, Laura Board exhibiting Jester, Sussex County; Champion English Pony, Hannah Ziccarelli exhibiting Once In a Blue Moon, Kent County; Reserve Champion English Pony, Jenna Rischitelli exhibiting Velveteen Rabbit, Kent County; Grand Champion Walk Trot, Dawson Mitchell exhibiting Fiesta, Kent County; Reserve Champion Walk Trot, Carter Sylvester exhibiting Hollering Hill Pocket Change, Kent County.
    The winner of the 2013 Betty Niblett Perpetual Trophy was Nicole Cannavo of the Holler-N-Hooves 4-H Club in Kent County. The Betty Niblett Perpetual Trophy is presented to the 4-H member who acquires the most points in showmanship and equitation/horsemanship classes.
