  • Majel C. (Atherholt) Fesel, 97, Dover, passed away Wednesday July 24, 2013 at Westminister health Care Dover. She was born on January 15, 1916 in Forty Fort, PA the daughter to the late George and Eleanor(Lutz) Atherholt. She moved to New York City after her marriage in 1932, and for many years worked in retail. She then became an aid for Aviation High School in Long Island City for more the 15 years. She was an active member of the Order of Easter Star, Astoria Chapter, and the President of the PTA of Aviation High School. After living in NYC for more than 50 years, Majel moved to Luther Towers, Dover in 1983 where she volunteered at the desk and at many of the building's activities. She especially enjoyed decorating the many Christmas trees in the building. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Reginald, son R. Jack, brothers, James, George, W. Warren, and Roy, sisters Edna Atherholt, Lois George and Phyllis Mosley. She is survived by Son, Robert (Eleanor) Fesel of Dover, DE. Sister, Eleanor Bromfield of Frederick, MD. Sister, Mildred Davis of Ashley, PA. Sister, Nancy (David) Kachurak of Kingston, PA. Grandchildren, Robert Fesel of Robinsville, NJ., Robin (William) Luker of Siler City, NC. Roy (Debbie) Fesel of Pittsboro, NC., Ruth (Jasper) Cotton of Pittsboro, NC., Ranee Turner of Bensalem, PA., Roderick (Amanda) Fesel of Dover, DE., Ryan Fesel of Dover, DE. 11 Great Grandchildren, 5 Great Great Grand Children. Graveside Services and burial will be held 07/30/2013 12 noon at Memorial Shrine Cemetery Wyoming, PA The family request that memorial contributions be given to The Nurses Fund at Westminster Village 1175 McKee Road Dover, DE 19904.
