  • Mary Ann Brown passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013 in her home. She was 83. Mary Ann was born on September 3, 1929, daughter of the late William Reily Brown and Mattie Walls Brown. She was a 1947 graduate of Caesar Rodney High School and then went on to become a registered nurse. She took her training for her RN at Wilmington Memorial Hospital and continued working there in obstetrics. She later went on to receive her BS in nursing and worked as an instructor of obstetrical nursing with The Wilmington School of Nursing, Wesley College and Delaware Technical and Community College until her retirement. Mary Ann always loved her family visits, flower gardening and watching her birds. Mary Ann was a lifetime member of the Wyoming United Methodist Church, Wyoming-Camden Round Table Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution of Milford. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death her brothers William Reily Brown, Jr., and Frederic Walls Brown. Mary Ann is survived by her sister Susan Brown Buckley of Dover and nieces and nephews Pamela (Richard) Haddick of Wyoming, William R. Brown (Mary Lou) of Hurlock, MD, Richard J. Buckley of Monmouth Junction, NJ, David W. Brown (Susan) of Wyoming, Melanie Shade (Benjamin) of Cambridge, MD and Matthew Reily Buckley (Billie Jo) of Townsend and an extended family of great nieces, nephews, friends and church family. Service will be 11:00 am Thursday, July 25 at the Wyoming United Methodist Church, 216 Wyoming Mill Road, Dover. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Wyoming United Methodist Church, 216 Wyoming Mill Rd., Dover, DE 19904. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
