Fox Post 2 of the American Legion Baseball League had a tough weekend, dropping 3 games in a row to fall out of first place.

In a doubleheader on Saturday, Fox Post 2 dropped both games to R.C. duPont by scores of 9-8 and 21-7.

In Game One, Fox Post 2 saw an 8-0 lead disappear after the bats of Joey Voge and D.J. Burns took over for R.C. duPont Post 18.  Voge and Burns combined to go 4-for-6 on the day with 4 RBI and 2 runs scored.

Kyle Mace led the way for the Fox Post 2 bats finishing 2-for-2 in the loss.

In Game Two of the doubleheader, Fox Post 2 blew yet another lead to R.C. duPont. After going ahead 5-2 after 4 innings of play, R.C. duPont rallied to take the lead. Trailing 7-6, Fox Post 2 was able to tie things up, forcing extra innings.

R.C. duPont exploded for 14 runs in extra innings to blow away Fox Post 2 21-7.

Fox Post 2 rounded out their weekend with a 4-1 loss to Delaware Post 1. Zach Cooney of Delaware Post 1 pitched 5 shutout innings to earn the victory, while Pete Grasso was 2-for-2 with 2 walks to lead the way at the plate.

Kyle Mace was impressive on the mound, striking out 6 for Fox Post 2, however, he gave up 2 earned runs to Delaware Post 1. Lee Killen led the way at the plate for Fox Post 2, tallying 2 doubles.

The 0-3 week drops Fox Post 2 to 10-6 on the year, now 6 games behind first place Stahl Post 30 (12-0).

Fox Post 2 will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to Middletown to take on Post 25 at 6:00 p.m. Over the weekend, Fox Post 2 takes on Durney Post in a doubleheader at Wesley College on Saturday, Game One is scheduled for a Noon start, Game Two to follow at 3:00 p.m. They finish off their week on Sunday against the Post 10 Generals at Christiana High School at Noon.
