  • Delaware State Police have charged a Felton man with a sixth DUI offense after an accident the evening of July 6. The incident occurred at 7:40 p.m., said police spokesman Cpl. John Day. The suspect, identified as Vincent Y. Ware Jr., 51, allegedly was driving his 2001 Ford F150 north on Turkey Point Road when the vehicle left the right side of the roadway, returned to the roadway, and then traveled off of the left side of the roadway. The Ford struck the side of a ditch, throwing Ware from the vehicle. Ware was not properly restrained, Day said. Ware was taken by ambulance to Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries and released. He was charged with a sixth DUI offense, failing to have insurance identification in his possession, careless driving, and failing to wear a seatbelt. Ware was committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center, Smyrna, on a $10,003 cash bail.
