Dover Police are investigating a June 17 shooting that left one man with a gunshot wound to the leg.
The incident took place at approximately 10:13 p.m., said department spokesman Capt. Tim Stump.
Reports indicate the 23-year-old man was standing with a group of friends at the corner of Water Street and New Castle Avenue in Capitol Green when they were approached by a black man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
The group fled when they saw the man pull a handgun, Stump said; the victim told police he heard a shot and was hit in the lower part of one of his legs.
The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, where he was treated and released.
