  • Delaware Division of Cultural Affairs to offer programs in July

  • The Delaware Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs will be offering 16 programs at the six museums that it operates across the state.
    The following is a full listing of the division's programming during July:
    10 a.m. and 1 p.m. July 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, Zwaanendael Museum, 102 Kings Highway, Lewes, Lecture/tour of His Majesty's Sloop DeBraak. The program will include a trip to the facility in nearby Cape Henlopen State Park, 15099 Cape Henlopen Drive, for a tour of the surviving section of the ship's hull. Admission is $10 in advance by reservation only at (302) 645-1148 or shop.delaware.gov.
    11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. July 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31, John Dickinson Plantation, 340 Kitts Hummock Road, Dover, "Weaving Wednesdays." Visitors will learn how to weave a blanket or rag rug. Admission is free. For more information: (302) 739-3277.
    11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m. July 4, The Old State House, 25 The Green, Dover, Independence Day program screening of "Thunder and Rain." At 2 p.m. the bell of the Old State House will ring in celebration of the nation's birthday. Admission is free. For more information: (302) 744-5055.
