The 2013 American Legion Baseball season kicked off last week and Fox Post 2 out of Dover started hot with a 3-0 record.

Fox Post 2 opened up their season with an 8-1 victory over the Sussex West Post 6 Patriots on Tuesday, June 4.

Two Dover Senators starred in the victory; starting pitcher Tyler Cullen pitched 6 strong innings for Fox Post 2 giving up only 1 run while striking out 7 Patriot batters. Nick Spadafino finished with 2 hits and 2 runs in the victory. Caesar Rodney’s Lee Killen doubled and homered for Fox Post 2.

Fox Post 2 was back in action, defeating Milford Post 3 8-4 on Thursday, June 6.

Conner Chasanov, a Polytech junior, pitched 5 scoreless innings for Fox Post 2 allowing zero hits while striking out 11 Milford Post 3 batters. Dover Senator Dakota Graham finished with 2 hits and 2 runs for Fox Post 2 in the win.

Fox Post 2 rounded out their week with a 7-4 victory over R.C. DuPont 18 on Sunday, June 9.

After falling behind 3-0 in the first inning, Fox Post 2 was able to claw back to take the lead with a 5-run bottom of the 5th in route to the victory.

Cullen picked up his second win of the young season, going the distance Sunday for Fox Post 2. Cullen also helped himself out at the plate with 2 base hits. Michael Pool, 2012 graduate of St. Thomas More, also finished with 2 hits on the day.

Fox Post 2 will be back in action for 3 games this weekend. On Saturday, June 15 Fox Post 2 will take on Durney Post 27 (0-1) at Stanton Middle School, first pitch is at noon.

Fox Post 2 will play a double-header on Sunday, June 15 against Delvets Post 1 (3-0). Both games will be played a A.I. duPont High School, game one starts at noon with game two scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
