  • Evelyn Figueroa, of Hampstead Maryland, formerly of Dover, Delaware passed away on Friday, May 31, 2013 at the University Of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore. She was 83. Mrs. Figueroa was born on November 6, 1929 in New York City to the late Leocadio Cardona and Melania Rosario Cardona. Evelyn loved her years as a military wife, embracing the international travel while raising her family. Faith in God and love of her family was the foundation for creating a warm, happy home full of beautiful memories (and great food) for her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Evelyn enjoyed her fifteen years as a receptionist for the law offices of Parkowski, Noble and Swayze. After her retirement in 2005, she and husband Ralph, continued to travel the world, visiting over 20 countries. During her years in Dover, Evelyn was an active member of Holy Cross Parish, and enjoyed being a member of the choir. She also served as a gubernatorial appointee to the Foster Care Review Board. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Ralph Angel Figueroa, and her son, Ralph A. Figueroa, Jr. “Grandma Figgy” is survived by: daughters Dee Little, (Chuck), Yvonne Frankis, (Bill), Michelle Loewer, (Michael), daughter-in-law Donna Figueroa, grandchildren Joseph Thompson, Alexis Loewer, Leah Fyock(Dean), Ian Thompson(Michelle), Ralph, Ashley Figueroa, Domenica Figueroa, Mitchell Taylor, Peyton Loewer, Tim & Ryan, and great-grandchildren, Mason, Lachlan, Graybill, Kennedy, Alexia and Ralphy. Visitation will be between 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. followed by mass of Christian Burial at noon, Wednesday, Jun 5, 2013 at Holy Cross Catholic Church 630 S. State Street, Dover, DE 19901. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.
