Harrington Police have arrested a local man after he allegedly ignored orders not to return to the scene of a prior domestic dispute.
The incident took place Sunday in the 100 block of Coleman Street, said police spokesman Lt. Earl Brode.
Officers were responding to a domestic dispute between a woman and the suspect, identified as Leroy G. Benson, 50, Brode said. Officers cleared the scene and escorted Benson from the property, but had to return shortly afterward when Benson went back to the scene. He again was escorted off the property and warned not to return.
Police were called a third time when Benson allegedly came back to the same address, Brode said.
Benson allegedly resisted attempts to take him into custody, but was eventually taken to the the Harrington Police headquarters.
Benson was charged with resisting arrest with force, offensive touching, disorderly conduct and third-degree trespass, and ordered held at the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of a $3,010 secured bond.
