For the seventh time, Fifer Orchards will proudly paint Camden-Wyoming red with its annual Strawberry Festival on Saturday.

At the festival you'll swear Willy Wonka is the mastermind behind it all, since there will be an array of strawberry treats such as hand-dipped strawberry ice cream, chocolate covered strawberries, crab sandwiches with strawberry relish, pulled pork with strawberry barbeque sauce, strawberry shortcake and strawberry smoothies. For those of you wanting to channel your inner Paula Dean or Robert Irvine, you can do so by submitting your most creative and tasty strawberry recipe.

The top two winners will receive a $30 Fifer Orchards gift card, and the third place winner will earn a snazzy apron. Recipe entries must be made Saturday by 11 a.m.

In addition to the berries, families will enjoy a handful of activities including barrel train rides, hayrides, pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting and a rock-climbing wall. Not to mention, John Sell (10 to 11 a.m.), George and Ossi (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and Miss Jackie (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) will supply some pretty sweet tunes.

Your Dr. Doolittle-skills will come in handy tonight when Black Dog Alley barks from the stage at The Green Stinger Sports Bar and Grill.

Inspired by the likes of Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix, the tale (pardon the pun) behind Black Dog Alley is simple. After tackling a few open mics, Pat Donohue (drums) and Erik Baier (guitar) discovered they both shared the same passion for performing. Then came Brandon Dowling (bass) and the outfit was born.

The crew has since performed throughout the Eastern Shore of Maryland and in the Delmarva region. Black Dog has also been inducted in the Delmarva Band Co-Op, a partnership formed to provide bands an opportunity to network, assist one another with landing gigs and more.
