Harrington police have taken into custody a second person wanted in a case involving stolen checks.
Steven Schaffer, 23, of the 25000 block of Dorman Drive was arrested by May 15, according to documents released by Justice of the Peace Court 7. He was apprehended by police in Wilmington, and then turned over to Harrington officers.
Schaffer had been wanted in connection with the theft of two checks that were later cashed under a forged name. An initial arrest in the case, that of alleged accomplice Sara H. Kimmons, 22, of Milford, was made May 1, the same day the stolen checks were reported to police.
According to the warrant, Kimmons claimed she did not know the checks had been stolen when Schaffer allegedly asked her to cash them.
Schaffer was charged with second-degree forgery, second-degree conspiracy and two counts of theft under $1,500.
He was ordered held on a $300 secured bond.
