  • After a long, courageous battle with cancer, Barbara Bryan Magee of Felton died peacefully on May 4th at the Pinnacle Rehabilitation and Health Center near Smyrna. Barbara was born on July 26, 1940 in Dover. She was the daughter of the late Walter R. Eley of Smyrna and the late Mary Wright Stinson of Vero Beach, Fl. She was the longtime companion of the late Wade Hampton Poole who died March 25, 2012. She was preceded in death by her grandson Nicholas G. Clendaniel. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Bryan Lambert (Richard) of Dover; her brother, Richard W. Stinson (Marina) of Bethesda, MD; her beloved grandchildren, John Clendaniel III who was like a son and Jena Melvin of Frederica and her great grandchildren. After retiring as a longtime restaurant employee at Dover Air Force Base, brabara enjoyed dining with friends, flea-marketing, and the buying and selling of gold and precious jewelry. She had a long association with Spencer's in Dover where she was a regular fixture and had many friends. In more recent years, she developed strong ties with Maranatha Fellowship in Dover which she viewed as her Christian family, many of whom gave endlessly of their time, prayers, and loving care during her difficult illness. A memorial service will be held at Maranatha Fellowship at a later date and a family burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider giving to the Kent County SPCA.
