  • A Greenwood resident was arrested May 8 after police determined he had illegally used a Harrington business' credit card.
The suspect, identified as Charles Knight, 45, turned himself in following a police investigation, said department spokesman Lt. Earl Brode.
The owner of the business told officers that Knight had been given a credit card to use for business purchases but apparently had used it at least nine times to make non-business-related purchases, Brode said. Their investigation also indicated a customer had once come into the store to pay for services performed but that Knight had kept the money instead of turning it over to the owner, he added.
Knight was charged with a single misdemeanor count of theft of services and nine misdemeanor counts of unlawful use of a credit card.
He was released on a $10,000 unsecured bond.
