  • Larry Dornell Harris was born on June 24, 1956 and went home to be with the Lord on May 2, 2013.
Henry and Marian Harris were joined in holy matrimony and from that union three children were born Larry D. Harris, Lisa D. Deputy (Thomas) and Lynette D. Todd (Pierre). Larry accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Wilmington, DE.
Larry was an avid fisherman and chess player who enjoyed gardening and was a passionate Philadelphia Eagles fan. He was a loyal supporter and volunteer at the House of Pride where he worked diligently to support the Men of the House of Pride in their recovery. He assumed the roles of Property, Financial and Food Distribution Manager for the House of Pride and supervised the work assignments for the men. His support and valued service will be greatly missed.
Larry’s smile and laugh was contagious and made you want to share in his love for fun. He loved to tease and joke with friends and family. Larry could always be found helping someone out and was always willing to lend a hand in a time of need. Even in death Larry was a gift of life donor.
He leaves to cherish his memory, three daughters, Ebonie J. Robinson, LaNaih Lewis, La Ray Harris, two sons, Nigel Sykes and Larry Harris Jr., one  grandson, Kamarii J. Boyd, his mother Marian Harris, two sisters, Lisa Deputy (Thomas) Smyrna, DE, Lynette Todd (Pierre) Washington D.C., two nieces, Naomi Todd and Lisa Davis (Mondoe), three nephews, Gary Kennedy (Nicole), Myland Todd, Pierre Todd Jr., and a host of relatives and friends.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 11 at the First Pilgrim Baptist Church, Camden where viewing will be two hours earlier.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to House of Pride, 105 S. New Street, Dover, DE 19904.
The family request that the attire for the services be colorful, this is a celebration of life.
