Three Magnolia residents, including a husband and wife, were arrested Thursday morning following a month-long drug investigation.
Members of the Delaware State Police Kent County Drug Task Force, consisting of members of the Kent County Drug Unit, with assistance from the Kent County Governor's Task Force and the DSP Special Operations Response Team, executed a search warrant at a home in the 100 block of Carnation Drive, said police spokesman Mast Cpl. Gary Fournier.
Daren M. Martin and his wife, Vanessa M. Martin, and Martin's brother, John Martin Jr., were all taken into custody without incident at the home. During a search of the home, detectives located 260 bags of heroin totaling approximately 6.5 grams, a large bag of fireworks, drug paraphernalia, and more than $2,800 in suspected drug proceeds. John Martin also was found to have four Percocet pills that were not prescribed to him.
All three were charged with possession of a controlled substance (heroin), possession with intent to deliver heroin, second-degree conspiracy, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of fireworks. John Martin also faces an additional charge of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.
John and Daren Martin both were incarcerated at the John T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $123,300 and $122,300 cash bonds, respectively.
Vanessa Martin was released on a $42,300 unsecured bond.
