  • Harrington Police have arrested one person and are looking for another after a woman had reported the theft of two checks.
The victim contacted Harrington officers Wednesday to say the checks had been cashed at a Harrington bank, said police spokesman Lt. Earl Brode. Officers soon determined a man and woman had cashed the checks after forging the victim's name, and, using surveillance video identified the woman as Sara H. Kimmons, 22, of Milford. The other individual was identified as Steven Schaffer, 23, whose last known address was on Lynch Road, Milford.
Officers contacted Kimmons and she turned herself in the same day.
Kimmons was charged with two counts of theft under $1,500, second-degree conspiracy and second-degree forgery. She later was released on a $6,000 unsecured bond.
Harrington Police have warrants on file for Schaffer's arrest; anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police at (302) 398-4493 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at (800) TIP-3333.
