  • Harrington Police have arrested a local man after he allegedly attempted to strangle another person.
The incident took place the evening of April 28, said police department spokesman Lt. Earl Brode as officers went to a home on Central Park Drive to investigate a domestic assault complaint.
Officers noted Harding's alleged victim was showing facial injuries and called an ambulance to transfer that person to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Their investigation showed Harding and the victim, whose name and gender was not released, had gotten into a fight and that Harding hit the victim in the face with a telephone and then tried to choke the victim.
Harding was charged with strangulation, two counts of third-degree assault, offensive touching and malicious interference with interference with emergency communications.
He was jailed at the Sussex Correctional Institute in default of a $7,600 secured bond.
