Delaware State Police are looking into a case in which five people were robbed in separate incidents only minutes apart.
The first took place at approximately 11:30 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of the Generals Green apartment complex at 300 Billy Mitchell Lane, Dover, said police spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier.
The second occurred approximately a half-hour later, at 12 a.m. Monday at the Burger King restaurant at 1600 S. DuPont Hwy, Dover.
In the first incident, the robber accosted a 56-year-old man as he was getting out of his car in the Generals Green parking lot. The victim said the man came up to him brandishing a handgun and demanding money. The suspect fled on foot around one of the apartment buildings.
In the second case, four employees at the Burger King were beginning to close the restaurant when two men walked in pointing handguns. The three male victims, ages 19, 22 and 28, were forced into the rear of the store while the 29-year-old female victim was forced to open the safe. The two suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction, Fournier said.
No one was hurt in either incident.
The suspect in the first robbery was described as a black man standing between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing between 140 and 150 pounds, wearing dark jeans, a dark hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up over his head and a cloth covering his face. He was armed with an unknown type of handgun, Fournier said.
The first suspect in the second robbery was described as a black man between the ages of 20 and 25, standing between 5 feet 10 and 6 feet tall, wearing dark blue jeans, a black sweatshirt, black ski mask, white gloves and white sneakers. He was armed with an unknown type of handgun.
The second suspect in the Burger King robbery is a black man between 20 and 25 years of age standing between 5 feet 11 inches and 6 feet 1 inch tall, wearing black jeans, a black sweatshirt and black shoes. He also was armed with an unknown type of handgun.
Delaware State Police are investigating both incidents as they took place just outside the Dover city limits.
