Willie L. Spruance, 49, of the 600 block of Cloverfield Lane, Harrington, had been left in charge of the two minors several times in 2011 when he allegedly touched them inappropriately, according to documents released by Justice of the Peace Court 7.
The case was brought to light March 12 during an investigation by the Division of Family Services.
According to the state sex offender website, Spruance was convicted in 1987 of unlawful sexual intercourse and, according to the arrest warrant, again in 1995 for attempted unlawful sexual intercourse.
In this case, he was charged with three counts of unlawful sexual contact against a child where the perpetrator is a sex offender, three counts of unlawful sexual contact with a child less than 13 years of age, and three counts of sexual abuse of a child by a person of trust.
Spruance was ordered held in default of a $60,000 secured bond.
