Wesley College announced that the speaker for its spring commencement ceremony will be David W. Devonshire. A 1966 graduate from Wesley, Devonshire currently serves on four public company boards: Roper Industries, Arbitron, Meritor and Career Education.
Additionally, he serves on the advisory boards of LEK Consulting and CFO magazine. He also serves as a consultant to the private family company Harrison Street Capital and is on the board of one of Harrison’s investments, MCR, LLC.
A graduate of Widener University, Devonshire earned a B.S. in accounting and holds an MBA from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University.
Devonshire began his career with KPMG. He has also worked in senior financial positions with Mead, Baxter International. He has served as a trustee for many institutions during his work in finance, including the Shedd Aquarium, Toledo Zoo and United Way of Bergen County.
Devonshire served as EVP and CFO at Motorola until 2007, he was voted one of the best CFOs by Institutional Investor magazine for 2005, 2006 and 2007. In 2006, he was voted one of the top 100 most influential people in finance by Treasury and Risk magazine.
