Cheswold Police have lodged drug charges against a Dover man
Cheswold Police have arrested a Dover man on drug charges following a traffic stop in town.
The incident took place at 5 p.m. April 24, said Chief of Police Christopher Workman. The suspect, identified as Raymond Stoker, 47, gave the Cheswold officer permission to search the vehicle it had been stopped for a traffic violation. The search turned up several open beer cans and a prescription bottle containing 42 pills, Workman said.
Stoker was charged with possession of consumption of a controlled or counterfeit substance without a prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while suspend or revoked, plus traffic violation.
Stoker was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 7 and released after posting a $1,000 secured bail.
