  • High School Sports Wrap Up - Monday, April 22

  • Baseball
    Caesar Rodney defeated Seaford 8-2 on Monday, April 22. Seth Brosius continued his impressive season going 4-for-4 with a double, 2 runs scored and 3 RBI to lead the way for the Riders. Gabe Rivera earned the W for CR going 5 innings giving up only 1 run on 2 hits while striking out 8. The Riders are back in action on Tuesday afternoon when they travel to take on rival Dover at 4:15 p.m.
    St. Thomas More fell to Mt. Pleasant 5-2 on Monday, April 22. Kenny Anderson pitched a complete-game for the Ravens allowing 5 runs on just 4 hits to take the hard-luck loss. Sean Pool was the standout for the Ravens with the bat finishing 2-for-4 on the day. The Ravens return to the diamond on Thursday when they host Conrad – first pitch 4:00 p.m.
     
    Softball
    Caesar Rodney defeated Seaford 14-0 on Monday, April 22. Nicole Mendes led the way on the mound and at the plate for the Riders. Mendes pitched a complete-game shutout giving up only 3 hits while striking out 11 Seaford batters. Mendes was also 3-for-3 from the plate for the Lady Riders in the win. CR returns to the field Tuesday afternoon when they travel to Dover to take on the rival Senators, first pitch scheduled for 4:15 p.m.
    St. Thomas More fell to Mt. Pleasant 13-2 on Monday, April 22. The Ladies return to the field on Thursday when they host Conrad starting at 3:45 p.m.
    Boys Lacrosse
    Dover defeated Delmar 7-6 in overtime on Monday, April 22. McQuaide led the way for the Senators tallying 3 goals in the victory. The Senators return to the field on Wednesday when they host Polytech in a Henlopen Conference match up starting at 7:00 p.m.
     
    St. Thomas More fell to Sussex Central 12-7 on Monday, April 22. Jonathan Kelly led the way for the Ravens with 4 goals and 2 assists in the loss. The Ravens return to the field on Thursday when they host Glasgow starting at 4:00 p.m.
     
    Girls Lacrosse
    Caesar Rodney defeated Sanford 14-7 on Monday, April 22. Megan Card led the way for CR finding the back of the net 5 times in the win. The Lady Riders return to the field on Wednesday when they host Mt. Pleasant.
     
    Dover fell to Ursuline Academy 17-10 on Monday, April 22. The Senators had four different players finish with 2 goals in the loss. The Senators return to the field on Tuesday when they host Cape Henlopen at 7:00 p.m.
     
    St. Thomas More defeated Christiana 15-1 on Monday, April 22. Jena Wilson led the way for the Lady Ravens scoring 4 goals in the victory. The Lady Ravens return to the field Wednesday when they host Sussex tech at 4:00 p.m.

    Girls Tennis
    Caesar Rodney defeated Archmere Academy 5-0 on Monday, April 22. Sarah Candeloro, Sloan Barton and Kaloudis were all victorious in Singles competition while Caroline Bennett/Ashley Pappas and Jessica Ament/Elena Ramos were winners in Doubles competition.
     
    Golf
    Caesar Rodney fell to Salesianum 158-161 on Monday, April 22. Matt Rosal led the way for the Riders shooting a 38 in the loss. The Riders will get right back at it on Tuesday when they travel south to take on Indian River at Cripple Creek CC; Tee-Off at 3:30 p.m.
     
    Lake Forest fell to Cape Henlopen 184-224 on Monday, April 22. Zachery Powell was the standout for the Spartans finishing with a 48 on the day. The Spartans hit the greens again on Thursday when they take on Caesar Rodny at Shawnee Country Club starting at 3:30 p.m.
