A 35-year-old Harrington woman is charged with theft following an April 20 incident at the Georgetown Wal-Mart.
According to the Georgetown Police Department, Bobbi Butler allegedly exited the store around 10:35 p.m. and set off the alarm. Police said store employees attempted to make contact with Butler, who allegedly ran through the parking lot, threw two boxes into her vehicle, and fled the area. Police said as she ran through the parking lot, she dropped a box containing an RCA surround system. Police said employees were able to obtain the registration on Butler's vehicle. Police said they were able to obtain a phone number and make contact with Butler, who later responded to the Georgetown Police Department with two laptop computers she is alleged to have stolen from Wal-Mart.
Police said Butler was charged with shoplifting and was released on an unsecured bond pending a future court date.
