Doris McIlvaine Frazier of Magnolia passed away Tuesday April 16, 2013 at Kent General Hospital. She was 90.
Doris was born August 29, 1922 to the late J. Ralph and Elva G. McIlvaine of Magnolia.
She was valedictorian of the class of 1939 at Caesar Rodney High School and a graduate of the University of Delaware, where she was a member of Pi Mu Epsilon, an Honorary Mathematics sorority/fraternity. Doris taught high school math at Caesar Rodney High School; third, fourth and fifth grades at Magnolia Elementary School; and math at Dover Country Day School. She was secretary of the Club 55 and Modern Maturity Center bowling leagues for 20 years. Doris was a lifetime member of the Magnolia United Methodist Church, including United Methodist Women.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Bruce G. Frazier, sons and daughters-in-law B. Gerald and Christina Frazier of Summerville SC and James and Victoria Frazier of Magnolia DE; granddaughters Laura Frazier and her husband Andrew Hynes of Martinsville VA and Susan Burgess and her husband Lester Burgess of Greer SC; and her great-grandson Parker Hynes of Martinsville VA.
Extended family include the caregivers who cared for her in recent years – Sally and Ted Robbins, Sarah Russell, Susie Perry, Robin Perry, Tiffany Lewis, Kim Jara, Lisa Pippin, and the staff of Christiana Care and Delaware Hospice.
Services will be held at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 East Lebanon Road, Dover, DE on April 21, 2013 at 2:00 p.m, where friends may call one hour earlier. Burial will be in Barratt’s Chapel Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
