  • Delaware State Police troopers are investigating a second Hartly home invasion and assault.
The incident took place at 10:50 p.m. Saturday, in the unit block of Brittney Lane, said police spokesman Cpl. John Day. A resident of the home had gone inside and after being inside for approximately 25 minutes, was attacked by another man who apparently had been waiting inside.
The two struggled, and the invader fled after being pushed out of the house.
The victim, a 52-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The suspect is described only as a white man with brown hair.
This home invasion and assault took place at the same address as a similar incident March 6, Day confirmed. In that case, two men attacked and beat two other men, one of who was sexually assaulted with an undisclosed object; that individual later died. Two suspects in that incident were arrested, but later released for lack of evidence. That case remains under investigation.
Day said he could not comment on whether the two cases are related, only that the investigation into the second case is continuing.
