  • Dover Police arrested a local man on drug and weapons charges after investigating a report of a suspicious vehicle.
    Officers made the arrest at approximately 12:48 p.m. April 11, in an alley between the 100 block of North Queen and North New streets, said police spokesman Lt. Daniel McKeown. After police contacted a number of people surrounding the vehicle, they located a .357 revolver on the ground. Further investigation determined the suspect, identified as Leroy D. Fleming, 30, to be in possession of the weapon, six rounds of ammunition and 2,291.6 grams, approximately five pounds, of marijuana.
    Fleming, of the 3000 block of Hazlettville Road, Dover, was charged with tier two possession of marijuana; possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony; possession of a firearm by a person prohibited; possession of ammunition by a person prohibited; possession of a firearm by a person prohibited due to drug possession; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
    He was jailed at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in Smyrna in default of a $115,500 secured bond.
    A second person, identified as Tykeme Robinson, 19, of the 200 block of Samuel Paynter Drive, Rodney Village, Dover, was issued a criminal summons for possession of 0.8 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
