  • Delaware State Police troopers are investigating a Dover motorcycle crash that injured the cycle's operator.
The incident took place at approximately 10:10 p.m. April 10, said police spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier. The operator, identified as Jeffrey D. McWaine Jr., 24, of the unit block of Webbs Lane, was riding a 1995 Honda eastbound on Webbs Lane when a white vehicle traveling westbound turned into McDaniel Drive. Trying to avoid a collision, McWaine put on his brakes, and was thrown from the Honda onto the pavement. The white vehicle was not hit and did not stop.
McWaine, who was wearing a helmet, was removed from the scene by EMS and taken to Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He was cited with driving while suspended, no proof of insurance, and fictitious or cancelled registration.
He was later transferred to Christiana Medical Center.
