The Boys and Girls Clubs of Delaware, along with clubs around the country, are celebrating National Boys and Girls Clubs week, April 7-13.
Each day will be themed and contains activities both for club members and the community to participate in. The National Boys and Girls Clubs Week celebration will focus on five core areas: education, technology, character and citizenship, healthy lifestyles, and tours.
The Clubs will kick off National Boys and Girls Club week with a Buffalo Wild Wings Dine In or Order Out event. For each participant who dines at Buffalo Wild Wings on Monday and submits the Boys & Girls Club voucher, Buffalo Wild Wings will donate 10 percent of the check back to the Clubs.
Tuesday the Clubs set out to reach 1,000 "Likes" on the Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware Facebook page. Wednesday will include addressing the issues young people are most concerned about: gang violence, alcohol, tobacco, and drug prevention, and dropout prevention. Thursday Clubs throughout Delaware will celebrate their Club Youth of the Year and wish them well on their statewide competition. Friday guests will be welcomed to visit the Clubs. Friday is also wear BLUE day.
