The Dover Police Department recognized seven officers with promotions and named its Officer of the Year and Civilian of the Year in ceremonies held March 28.

Seven officers with the Dover Police Department were promoted to higher ranks during ceremonies held March 28 at police headquarters. Those putting on new stripes were:

- Chad E. Bernat; promoted to sergeant and assigned to the Patrol Unit

- Harvey L. Jaksch; promoted to master corporal and assigned to the Patrol Unit

- Mark A. Hoffman; promoted to corporal and assigned to the Patrol Unit

- Jordan L. Miller; promoted to corporal and assigned to the Criminal Investigation Unit

- Salvatore V. Musemici; promoted to corporal and assigned to the Patrol Unit

- Kevin A. Streadwick; promoted to corporal and assigned to the Criminal Investigation Unit Detective Section

- Ian Z. Thompson; promoted to patrolman first class and assigned to the Special Enforcement Unit Motorcycle Section

Two other department personnel were recognized for their work over the past year:

- Cpl. Michael Wisniewski was named the 2013 Dover Police Department Officer of the Year

- John W. Boyer Sr., parking enforcement, was named the 2013 Dover Police Department Civilian of the Year
